The Devil's Song lyrics

"The Devi’s Song"

LYRICS

by Rusty Cage

Casted out like dying seeds upon the ground,

single file our marches echo through the trees,

we left no crumbs of bread to lead our way back home again,

Past the point of no returning, should we please,

And we all sang the devil’s song and sank into the night,

Saying God damn It might be wrong but at the time it all feels right,

and my my, how time flies, what are we living for?

And we all cried, at least we tried, and drank a little more.

We dawn our new born face and toss all masks aside,

among our new born kin, got nothin left to hide,

so pierce the flesh, our sacrament begins to grow,

and one by one into the darkness we all go.

And by the black wing of the raven, we take our flight,

Hold true to the laws of the Devil’s rite,

By the power of the sigil we made this pact,

as the children of Cain, as the souls of black,

as the fang of the serpent, head of the ram,

Consume Almighty through the blood of the lamb,

With the star of the morning to bring us the light,

and the eyes of the fallen to give us our sight to see.

So pass the chalice of that bitter tasting wine,

we’re gowned from head to toe in all midnight attire,

This growing moon, it brings us closer to the time,

so raise that skull of high and dance around the fire,

And we all sang the devil’s song and sank into the night,

Saying God damn It might be wrong but at the time it all feels right,

and my my, how time flies, what are we living for?

And we all cried, at least we tried, and drank a little more.

Here’s to knowledge we take from fruit,

progress with the heresy, it stems from the root,

Here’s to lies, forgotten goodbyes,

May we all take a sip, the Almighty arise,

Chant with vigor, find the truth,

with the cries of the night bring the final sooth,

And the star of the morning to bring us the light,

and the eyes of the fallen should it give us our sight to see.

Already have we all been damned, born of the blood that our god condemned,

shunned by the ones who set the standard of right,

with a skewed newer view of proverbial sleight,

It is we who went against the settling stone

as the waters of the mass wash us down to the bone,

It is we, the burdened by original sin,

who understand the weight of our fate, let us begin,

so as we bask in the black new void of the night,

move past every last limitation from sight,

In the bleak of the soil where the seed is sewn,

if the remnants remain the the tree can grow,

if the spring should allow of the tree to flower,

well then the song of the seed only grows in power,

and the power of the song makes strong its calling,

cause the calling is the cry of the one who’s fallen,

All hail, to Ye who we sing this song,

For through he we are free from bond,

All hail, to Ye who has made us free,

who brings light by of which we see,

All hail, to the lightened mighty glow,

that of which brings the power to know,

All hail to enlightenment the knowledge will bring,

All hail to the lord, that of which we sing,

So we shed all doubt for the hour has come,

Praise be for the year is one,

We shed all doubt brought upon with fear,

Praise be for the Lord is here,

We shed all doubt for the lives we give,

Praise be for the Lord shall live,

And we shed all doubt, you can hear his call,

for in the end It is judgement that defeats us all.

And we all sang the devil’s song and sank into the night,

Saying God damn It might be wrong but at the time it all feels right,

and my my, how time flies, what are we living for?

And we all cried, at least we tried, and drank a little more.
